Description
The Paphos Town Hall is located in the famous 28th of October square, just opposite the Municipal Library. The beautiful neoclassical building was built in 1955 under the Municipality of Iakovos Iakovides and is the work of Cypriot architect Andreas Christodoulides. It is an elegant building, with a particularly striking facade, featuring a quaint Doric entrance, giving it a monumental appearance.
Today, the Town Hall houses the Mayor’s office, the Municipal Secretary, other employees, as well as the Town Council meeting room. It is undoubtedly a reference point for the political life of Paphos, as the most crucial decisions for the Municipality are made here. Also, in recent years many civil marriages have taken place here, mostly for tourists.
